Untitled Art Houston 2026
Booth B29
October 2 – 4, 2026.

Mitochondria Gallery is pleased to announce its debut participation in Untitled Art, Houston 2026, taking place October 2 through 4, 2026, at the George R. Brown Convention Center, Hall A3, with a VIP and Press Preview on October 1. At Booth B29, the gallery will present a focused duo exhibition featuring artists from its program, Djakou Nathalie Kassi and Demetrius Wilson.

The presentation brings together two distinct artistic practices that engage questions of form, materiality, identity, and perception. Through their respective approaches, Kassi and Wilson offer a dialogue that considers the evolving possibilities of contemporary artistic expression across the African continent and its diasporas.

Extending beyond the conventional parameters of the art fair, Mitochondria Gallery will also activate its Houston space with a site specific presentation located less than a mile from the fair. This complementary exhibition will feature works by Alex Peter Idoko and Ejiro Fenegal, creating a broader context for the gallery’s presence in Houston and inviting visitors to encounter its program across two interconnected sites.

Concurrently, the gallery will present two exhibitions at its Houston location. The Forms That Remain, a duo exhibition featuring Sunday Ernest Nnamal and Nedia Were, considers the enduring relationship between material, memory, and representation. Alongside this presentation, Inheritance of Belonging, a solo exhibition by Hirwa Bless Anie Jovial, explores the layered conditions through which belonging is formed, inherited, and reimagined.

Across the fair and gallery exhibitions, the program brings together varied approaches to form, material, memory, and dialogue, emphasizing the breadth and complexity of contemporary artistic production from Africa and the African diaspora
