Manzi Leon Note to Gracilla

Manzi Leon is a self-taught visual and digital artist from Rwanda. For him, art is a cure or something that heals and uplifts society. As a self-taught artist, he began his career using the painterly painting style to express himself and, more importantly, advocate a desirable appreciation for black women and their essential role in his community.

His brush strokes converge on a canvas through a painterly style to form a masterpiece. Manzi has exhibited as an emerging contemporary African voice in Rwanda, Ghana and the USA. Manzi is driven by a profound commitment to personal and artistic growth, striving to be a powerful contemporary voice from Africa. His journey is centered around establishing foundational pillars that will support and shape his artistic endeavors. Passionate about advocacy, he focuses on supporting and amplifying the voices of Black women globally through his work. Manzi’s vision is not only to evolve as an artist but also to create meaningful impact and change through his creative expression.
